European Mobility Week 2022
European Mobility Week is a traditional international initiative that encourages local communities to implement and promote sustainable measures in transport management that change travel habits. The modern lifestyle chases us like a merciless coach – we are in a hurry at every moment and we are constantly in a hurry. Perhaps this is why we rely too much on the car, which is supposed to save us from the time crunch, but leaves us with disastrous consequences: pollution, noise, accidents and increasing health problems due to lack of movement. It is for this reason that the European Mobility Week initiative invites us to choose one of the more sustainable modes of mobility (walking, cycling or using public transport) instead of the car for our journeys to work, school or shops. When we turn off the car, our hearts will start playing and we will have done a tremendous amount for ourselves and our community.
We wave all year round. We are loudest between September 16 and 22. Once a year, we join forces and loudly call for a change in mobility habits.
This year under the slogan: Sustainably connected.
This year, in Murska Sobota, we will organize a free bike repair shop on Slovenska Street.
As part of the events of the European Mobility Week 2022, a free “Bike Repair Shop” will be organized on Slovenska Street from Monday, September 19 to Wednesday, September 21 from 1 to 5 p.m.
At the “Bike Repair Shop” you can service your bike free of charge (preventive inspections, parts adjustments, tire changes, etc.) so that it is flawless and safe for traffic.
Of course, we invite all citizens and visitors of our city to all other events during the European Mobility Week 2022.
On Monday, September 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., there will be a THEATER SHOW FOR KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN in the city park (on the castle platform).
On Thursday, September 22, a CAR-FREE DAY will be held in M. Toplice, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
